Israeli forces injure 19 guards in clashes at al-Aqsa

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces injured 19 Al-Aqsa Mosque guards on Sunday during renewed clashes at the Aqsa mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.

Al-Aqsa compound director Omar Kiswani said 19 Islamic Endowment Department guards suffered various bruises, fractures and cuts after being assaulted by Israeli forces with batons. Seven of them were hit on the legs and feet, while some of the others were hit on the head.

Kiswani said 70 Israeli settlers "raided" al-Aqsa in the afternoon through the Moroccan Gate and were accompanied by 100 to 150 Israeli special forces to secure their entry.

Additionally, Israeli media reported that four Israeli police officers were injured, with two moved to hospital for treatment.

During the raid some carpet was burnt, and some walls and doors were broken.

Israeli forces detained 5 people in total from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Limited clashes also broke out in nearby al-Issawiyah village, but died down.

Guards And Worshippers / Responsibility
-1- The 19 al-Aqsa "guards" should not have taken part in clashes.
-2- The Israeli forces had every right to disperse such clashes. And,
-3- The Responsibility for the injuries belongs to the Muslim guards and "worshippers", who too part in the clashes of a site, which they claim as "holy" !!
