Palestinian boy, 10, critically injured by rubber bullet in Jerusalem

May 21, 2015 6:46 P.M. (Updated: May 22, 2015 4:42 P.M.)
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian child was critically injured after Israeli forces shot him with a rubber-coated steel bullet near the Shufat refugee camp on Thursday, witnesses said.

Yahiya Sami al-Amudi, 10, was walking near a checkpoint by the East Jerusalem refugee camp when he was shot by the bullet.

He was taken to the Hadassa hospital in Ein Karem with a fractured skull, jaw, and left ear and had surgery to remove his left eye.

Medics said he is in a critical condition.

A spokesman for Fatah in the camp, Thaer Fasfous, condemned the targeting of children with tear gas, stun grenades and rubber-coated bullets.

Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said that there were "disturbances" in the Shufat area after locals threw stones at municipality workers.

Israeli border police used "non-lethal" weapons and a 10-year-old boy was moderately injured and taken to hospital, he added.

Undoubtedly, the 10-year-old "was walking near a checkpoint",
as part of a large violent clash, and probably throwing stones too,
before he was shot by a rubber-bullet. And,
It is dusgusting that Palestinians will use their children for violence,
just show to show such injuries to the world !!

Hope the child recovers. All I can say to the trolls is imagine if it was your child.

Undoubtedly Tibi has no heart. Undoubtedly Israeli soldiers aim at the faces of children because they love to punish the innocent. Undoubtedly soldiers are racists who see Palestinians as animals. Undoubtedly Israel will drown in their evil deeds. Undoubtedly they will become a pariah to the world.

Just look at these pictures. This is what supporting Israel means. If that doesn't bother you, great: you're in the right line of work. If it does bother you, get out -- before you lose your soul.

This is how Israel "defends" itself by shooting our children in the face with rubber coated bullets. What threat does this child hold? Absolutely none! Disgusting cowards in big army suits are so keen on going after little children.

Im not even shocked to see those news because it happens on a regular basis, israeli soldiers get instructions to aim at the eyes and face of children to diable them permanently. Always check the label guys, if it says "israel" you dont wanna buy it.

Lisa / Germany. It is people of your ilk that spread lies to incite hatred. NO. Soldiers are NOT given instructions to aim at the eyes. What for? All it leads to is bad press. The kid was just unlucky to get hit in the face. Plain and simple.

Arnold, the main objective of the shootings is to "toughen up" the troops so they don't mind shooting kids, old people or just beating them to death.
I am sure if you look around you will find a few children with bullet holes in their little chest, exactly where the heart is.
