NABLUS (Ma'an) -- A nine-year-old Palestinian boy was injured after being run over by an Israeli military jeep on the Nablus-Huwwara road Monday.

Witnesses told a Ma'an that Muhammad al-Qatuni, 9, from the al-Ein refugee camp in western Nablus was left with moderate injuries after being hit by a military vehicle.

The boy was taken to a hospital in Israel by a Red Star of David ambulance.

Initial information indicated that it was an accident.

Israeli military vehicles use Palestinian civilian roads throughout the West Bank and are not generally subject to traffic regulations.
