JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- A young Palestinian boy was injured and a teenager was arrested on Tuesday during clashes with Israeli forces in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur, locals said.

Locals told Ma'an that the clashes started near the al-Maqasid hospital in al-Tur.

Palestinian youths threw stones and Israeli forces fired rubber-coated bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades at residents, homes, and schools, the sources said.

They said a 10-year-old boy, whose name was not specified, was hit in the leg with a rubber-coated bullet during clashes.

Additionally, Israeli forces arrested 18-year-old Udayy Hisham Abu al-Hawa after assaulting him while he was walking in the neighborhood.

Several people suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation during the clashes.

Israel occupied East Jerusalem in 1967 and later annexed it in a move never recognized abroad.
