BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian activist, Youssef Abu Maria, was injured Saturday as Israeli forces suppressed a march near the tunnel checkpoint in Bethlehem protesting the death of PA minister Ziad Abu Ein.

A Ma'an reporter said that a group of activists against the separation wall and settlements marched to the tunnel’s checkpoint in Beit Jala and raised the Palestinian flag while shouting slogans about Abu Ein.

The activists placed pictures of Abu Ein and Palestinian flags inside the checkpoint before being assaulted and beaten by Israeli soldiers.
