Dec. 10, 2014 8:51 P.M. (Updated: Dec. 11, 2014 7:55 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Bethlehem municipality decided Wednesday to turn off the lights on the Christmas tree in the city in mourning of Minister Ziad Abu Ein.

Mayor Vera Baboun told Ma'an that the decision is followed President Mahmoud Abbas' call for a three-day period of mourning.

Abu Ein died Wednesday after an altercation with Israeli forces during a demonstration against settlements in the occupied West Bank.
