Israeli forces detain 13 Palestinian workers in Jerusalem

Nov. 30, 2014 8:11 P.M. (Updated: Dec. 2, 2014 1:19 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained 13 Palestinian workers overnight in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Tur, a Hebrew-language news site reported.

Walla reported that Israeli border guard officers pulled over a van in the al-Tur neighborhood and signaled to the driver to stop but instead he started to speed up.

According to the Walla report, Israeli forces chased the van until the driver pulled over.

Israeli officers claimed they found 13 Palestinian workers in the van who entered Jerusalem without the needed permit from the Israeli authorities. They were all detained along with the Jerusalem-resident driver.

The driver, according to Walla, will appear in a magistrate court in Jerusalem which is expected to extend his remand.
