QALQILIYA (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and critically injured a Palestinian man at a checkpoint near Qalqiliya on Tuesday, Palestinian security officials and Israeli media reported.

Palestinian security officials said Israeli forces opened fire at a vehicle carrying Palestinian workers at a checkpoint near Qalqiliya, severely injuring the driver.

Israeli media reported that soldiers opened fire at the driver of a vehicle with Israeli number plates after he tried to break through the Eyal checkpoint near Qalqiliya.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the side of the road.
