3 mortar shells fired from Syria land in Israel-controlled Golan

Aug. 27, 2014 11:46 A.M. (Updated: Aug. 27, 2014 7:09 P.M.)
TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- Mortar shells fired from Syria landed in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Wednesday, Israeli media reported.

There were no reports of injury but two vehicles were damaged, Israel's Ynet news site reported.

Israel, which is technically at war with Syria, seized 460 square miles of the strategic plateau during the 1967 Six Day War, and later annexed it in a move the international community does not recognize.
