Hamas says chances of Gaza truce deal 'evaporating'

Aug. 19, 2014 10:35 P.M. (Updated: Aug. 19, 2014 10:35 P.M.)
CAIRO (AFP) -- A senior Hamas official said Tuesday the chances of a durable ceasefire in Gaza were "evaporating" and that there had been no progress in indirect negotiations with Israel.

"The chances of reaching an agreement are evaporating," Ezzat al-Rishq, a member of the Palestinian delegation in Cairo where Egyptian mediators are racing to bridge the gaps before a temporary ceasefire runs out at midnight, told AFP.
