Al-Khadr boy drowns to death

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A teenage boy from the village of al-Khadr south of Bethlehem drowned to death Friday evening in a swimming pool in a nearby village.

Director of ambulance and emergency services at the Bethlehem office of the Palestinian Red Crescent Association Muhammad Awad named the victim as 18-year-old Muhammad Omar Naim Salah.

Awad highlighted that an ambulance was sent immediately to the pool in Battir village and and evacuated the boy to Beit Jala Governmental Hospital, where doctors announced his death.
