120 Palestinians detained in 1st week of August

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Some 120 Palestinians were detained from Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah and al-Bireh, Jenin and Bethlehem during the first week of August, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said Monday.

The PPS said in a statement that 30 Palestinians were detained from Hebron, 23 from Jerusalem, 20 from Ramallah and al-Bireh, 14 from Bethlehem, 14 from Jenin, eight from Salfit, five from Nablus, three from Tubas, two from Tulkarem and one from Jericho.

Israeli forces detained a Palestinian after raiding his house in Jenin early Thursday.

Palestinian security sources told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided the Amarneh family house in Yabad village and detained Mahdi Nour Amarneh, 19.

Two Palestinian were detained from Bethlehem late Wednesday. They are Shihab Mizher, 39, Samih al-Afandi, 32, and Islambuli Badir, 28, who was detained from Bethlehem.
