JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian man injured during Israel's assault on Gaza died on Thursday in a Jerusalem hospital.

Muhammad Jumaa al-Najjar, 32, arrived to al-Maqasid Hospital in Jerusalem on Wednesday with "critical injuries," a hospital official said.

Dr. Anwar Barud told Ma'an that al-Najjar arrived with fractures in his lower limbs and chest bones and was only partially conscious.

The hospital is preparing to transfer the body back to Gaza.

Some 18 wounded Palestinians from Gaza are currently being treated in the al-Maqasid Hospital.

Over 1,800 Palestinians were killed during Israel's military offensive in Gaza. A majority of the victims were civilians.
