Israeli media: 6 injured in mortar attack on Eshkol

July 31, 2014 7:35 P.M. (Updated: Aug. 1, 2014 6:12 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli media reported on Thursday that six Israelis were injured in a mortar attack on Eshkol in southern Israel.

Channel 7 reported that three of the six Israelis were critically injured.

The report did not say whether the Israelis were soldiers or civilians.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said she was looking into the incident.

Earlier, Israeli residents of the Shaar Hanegev region were told to stay inside their homes due to a "possible infiltration incident."

On Monday, four Israeli soldiers were killed after a mortar strike from Gaza hit a military site in Eshkol.
