JENIN (Ma’an) – Israeli forces detained a young Palestinian man in the northern West Bank village of Bartaa al-Sharqiya west of Jenin.

A village councilor Tawfiq Qabaha told Ma’an that 28-year-old Muatasim Jad Sabri was detained after he drove West Bank workers to Bartaa.

Qabaha highlighted that Sabri wasn’t a resident of Bartaa.

Separately, fierce clashes broke in Bartaa between Israeli soldiers and dozens of young Palestinian men who hurled stones at Israeli military patrols.

The Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated bullets and tear-gas canisters at the protesters .
