Locals: Israeli forces shell Rafah

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces late Sunday fired several artillery shells at the southern Gaza Strip, witnesses said.

Locals told Ma'an Israeli forces shot artillery shells at the al-Matar area east of Rafah.

Two shells were fired, with no injuries were reported, the sources said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking further details.
