GAZA CITY (Ma’an) – Rescue teams of the Gaza City civil defense service on Saturday morning pulled out a fifth body from a tunnel which collapsed Thursday in the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City.

Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesman of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, confirmed that body of Ahmad Ayyad was pulled out of debris Saturday morning.

Rescue teams and firefighters on Friday pulled four bodies from the rubble. They were identified as Salman Naim al-Harazin, Ibrahim Salih al-Qaraan, Raed Kamil Marshoud, and Khalil al-Gharabli, all from the al-Shujaiyeh neighborhood.

The five victims were members of Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades who died in an explosion inside a tunnel in the al-Tuffah neighborhood near a Hamas military site in eastern Gaza City on Thursday.

A firefighter also died during rescue operations.
