Worshipers demonstrate at al-Aqsa compound

June 11, 2014 12:17 P.M. (Updated: June 12, 2014 4:46 P.M.)
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Dozens of worshipers demonstrated Tuesday at the Moroccans Gate inside the al-Aqsa mosque compound against Israeli restrictions on entering the area.

A Ma’an reporter in Jerusalem said dozens of worshipers demonstrated at the Moroccan Gate after noon prayer. They were protesting the confiscation of ID cards and other abuses.

Participants in the demonstration demanded that Israeli police give them back their IDs.

Worshipers demanded removing all restrictions on entering al-Aqsa because it is “for Muslims, and they can enter anytime without any restrictions.”

Israeli police increased restrictions on al-Aqsa earlier Tuesday, assaulted worshipers and pepper spraying them while they attempted to enter it.
