Israeli forces demolish Palestinian house near Tulkarem

June 9, 2014 10:05 A.M. (Updated: June 11, 2014 11:30 A.M.)
TULKAREM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces demolished a Palestinian house near the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem on Monday, Palestinian security officials said.

Bulldozers escorted by Israeli military vehicles raided the village of Farun at 5:30 a.m. and destroyed the home of Falah Suleiman Abdul-Rahman Ubeid, 58.

Ubeid collapsed after seeing his house destroyed and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Youths in the village gathered in the area and hurled stones at Israeli soldiers, who fired tear gas canisters and sound grenades.

A local woman, Aisha Daoud, suffered serious breathing difficulties as a result of the tear gas.
