Israeli forces shoot, injure Palestinian in northern Gaza

May 26, 2014 7:26 P.M. (Updated: May 27, 2014 10:21 A.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian man in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, a ministry spokesman and medics told Ma'an.

Ashraf al-Qidra, Gaza's health ministry spokesman, said that Israeli naval forces shot a Palestinian man in the hand and the back, moderately injuring him.

Medics identified the man as 52-year-old Imad Shukri Salim, and told Ma'an that he had been taken to Kamal Adwan hospital for treatment.

An Israeli military spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
