Taba border crossing reopens

May 9, 2014 6:18 P.M. (Updated: May 9, 2014 6:18 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Taba border crossing between Egypt and Israel re-opened on Friday after being closed the day before due to flooding as a result of heavy rains.

Hebrew radio sources quoted the Israeli Foreign Ministry as saying that the crossing would be open until 6 p.m.

It also reported that around 300 Israelis were stranded on the other side of the crossing due to the closure.

Thousands of Israelis visit the Egyptian resort cities of the Sinai peninsula via the Taba crossing every year.
