Israeli bulldozers level Palestinian lands in Hebron village

March 26, 2014 12:58 P.M. (Updated: March 27, 2014 11:24 A.M.)
HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli bulldozers leveled Palestinian agricultural land in the southern West Bank village of Susiya on Wednesday, a local official said Wednesday.

Susiya Mayor Jihad Nawajaa told Ma'an that several bulldozers escorted by Israeli military vehicles leveled private Palestinian land in the Umm Nir neighborhood of the Hebron-area village.

Fruit trees were bulldozed near the illegal Israeli settlement of Susiya, Nawajaa said.

Israeli forces declared the area a closed military zone and denied farmers access to their lands.

Nawajaa added that a delegation from the British consulate general in Jerusalem was scheduled to be visiting Susiya at the time.
