March 1, 2014 12:43 P.M. (Updated: March 2, 2014 10:40 A.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Unidentified militants kidnapped and assaulted a sheikh in the southern Gaza Strip early Saturday, locals said.

Locals told Ma'an that Sheikh Majdi al-Mughrabi, whom they described as a "Salafi," was found handcuffed in Rafah city near the border with Egypt two hours after he was kidnapped.

Al-Mughrabi was tortured during the kidnapping, locals said, without providing further details.
