HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained a teenager during clashes in Hebron on Monday, locals said.

Mohammad Majdi Mohammad Banat, 17, was arrested after Israeli forces fired tear-gas canisters and rubber-bullets at Palestinians, who responded by throwing empty bottles and stones at soldiers.

Dozens suffered from tear-gas inhalation and were treated at the scene.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said the forces were responding to a group of 60 Palestinians who threw stones. She confirmed one person was detained.
