Police detain 4 suspects for murder of Palestinian wedding singer

Nov. 14, 2013 9:30 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 15, 2013 11:11 P.M.)
UMM Al-FAHM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police detained four people suspected for involvement in the murder of Palestinian wedding singer Shafiq Kabha, a police spokesperson said Thursday.

Israeli police spokesman Luba al-Samari said that police detained a man and his two sons, in addition to another suspect.

All of the suspects are reportedly from Umm al-Fahm, a Palestinian city in Israel's Haifa district, where Kabha was shot dead in October.

Al-Samari said that Kabha's killing was personal rather than political.

Born in the village of Kafr Qara in northern Israel, Kabha is considered one of the most popular Palestinian wedding singers both in the West Bank and Palestinian towns in Israel.

He leaves behind a wife and four children.
