NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces raided the northern West Bank village of Burin overnight Tuesday and detained six people, a Palestinian Authority official said.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided the village following clashes between young Palestinians and Israeli soldiers.

Locals told Ma'an that young men had showered an Israeli jeep with stones while it was chasing them, causing damage to the jeep and wounding an Israeli soldier.

Israeli forces then raided Burin and detained several young men in the street, releasing some while taking others into custody.

Udayy Yasser Mansour, 24, Nasr Nafi Mansour, 22, Wartan Zeidan Najjar, 25, Mursi Walid Eid, 22, Yasser Muhammad Eid, 22, and Yazid Mahmoud Dakhil, 21, were identified as those detained.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said eight people were detained overnight, six in Ramallah and two in Nablus.
