Israeli forces raid towns across northern West Bank

Nov. 11, 2013 1:47 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 12, 2013 9:57 A.M.)
JENIN (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces raided a number of residential areas across Jenin on Monday, temporarily detaining numerous Palestinians and ransacking a home in al-Zawiya village in the process.

Israeli patrols raided the northern West Bank city of Jenin as well as other towns and villages in the north, including Bir al-Basha, al-Yamun and Yabad.

Security sources told Ma'an that Israeli forces raided the house of Fawaz Mahmoud Jarar in Al-Zawiya village. Jarar was subsequently interrogated about his son Abboud, 25, who was not in the house at that time.

Forces left the house without further detaining any residents.

An Israeli army spokeswoman did not return calls seeking comment.

The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
