BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian man from Dura was injured after unknown assailants opened fire on him near the southern Israeli city of Kiryat Gat, according to Israeli police.

The man, whose name was not given, was in his 20s and suffered bullet wounds in his leg.

Police spokesman Luba al-Samari said that the man went on his own to the police station in Kiryat Gat, where he was treated before being taken to the hospital.

Al-Samari added that the police had opened an investigation into the incident and were looking for the suspects who had run away.
