Settlers clash with Palestinians in East Jerusalem

Sept. 25, 2013 10:56 P.M. (Updated: Sept. 25, 2013 10:56 P.M.)
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Clashes broke out Wednesday between Palestinians and Israeli settlers in al-Qarmi neighborhood in the Old City of Jerusalem, witnesses said.

Around 400 settlers held a rally in the al-Saraya, al-Hakari, and al-Qarmi neighborhoods, waving Israeli flags and dancing while some shouting the slogan that "Jerusalem is ours."

Palestinians tried to stop them and a fight broke out before Israeli police arrived at the scene and confronted the Palestinians after accusing them of throwing stones.

Police both prevented the settlers from continuing the march and stopped Palestinians from leaving some neighborhoods.
