Abbas meets Lebanese journalists

BEIRUT (Ma'an) -- President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday met with over 100 Lebanese journalists, including renowned novelist Elias Khoury and several well-known media personalities.

They discussed local and regional Issues including arms in Lebanese camps and his willingness to meet all Lebanese officials including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

One TV anchor told Abbas that "our channel is against you, in our news segments we used to always refer to you as expired Abbas. But now we will never say that after we have seen the others."

The president responded by saying it was true his term had expired, which is why he supports holding immediate elections in the West Bank and Gaza.
