Palestinians, Israeli forces clash in Nablus village

NABLUS (Ma'an) -- A large Israeli force raided a village south of Nablus on Tuesday and closed a nearby army checkpoint, a local official said.

Around 20 army vehicles entered Qabalan village and soldiers fired tear gas at residents and their homes, said Hisham Azar, head of the local municipality.

Azar told Ma'an that villagers clashed with the soldiers.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said soldiers used "riot dispersal means" in response to stone-throwing by Palestinians in Qabalan.
