Israelis scrawl 'death to Arabs' in Salfit

June 7, 2013 11:36 A.M. (Updated: June 9, 2013 2:28 P.M.)
SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Jewish worshipers scrawled "Death to Arabs" on Palestinian homes during a visit to a tomb in a northern West Bank town on Thursday night.

Israeli soldiers accompanied the extremist group to Kifl Haris, an Israeli military spokeswoman said.

Locals said soldiers closed all entrances to the town, ordered shops to shut and prevented residents from moving around.

Around 400 Israelis entered Kifl Haris on buses to visit a tomb revered by Jews as the burial site of Joshua.

They stayed for over three hours and sprayed racist graffiti in Hebrew on village walls, homes and inside the shrine.
