GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The body of a four-year-old boy was found Sunday morning in a small open agricultural reservoir in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, locals said.

Ali al-Muqatran's body was pulled out of the pool, which is used for irrigation, in the Abu Musbih neighborhood, locals told Ma'an.

Khan Younis governor Rami al-Aydi said police and medics were dispatched to the area. The child's body was transferred to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis for forensic testing, al-Aydi added.
