Health union to go on strike for 2 weeks

Feb. 21, 2013 10:02 P.M. (Updated: Feb. 24, 2013 7:33 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (MA’an) -- The union of health workers announced Thursday an open strike in all health facilities for two weeks.

In a statement, the union said that from Feb. 24 until March 10 workers will carry out a strike.

Staff will work on an emergency basis by decreasing their numbers in all sectors and will treat emergency cases only.

They called on all workers to commit to the strike, while also considering people’s lives as a priority and more important than the strike:

“Our strike is civilian, it’s a tool not a goal”.
