Armed group shuts down water plant in Sinai

EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- An armed group in the Sinai shut down a water plant on Saturday, claiming it was built on land belonging to their members.

The gunmen evacuated all the staff and shut down operation of the Al-Taloul water station in Bir Al-Abed, north Sinai, a Ma'an reporter said.

The plant provides drinking water to El-Arish city.
