Witnesses: Israeli military vehicles cross into Gaza

Feb. 14, 2013 1:41 P.M. (Updated: Feb. 15, 2013 9:44 A.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli military vehicles crossed into northern Gaza to level lands on Thursday morning, witnesses told Ma'an.

Eight military vehicles crossed 300 meters inside Beit Lahiya agricultural land, leveling an area called Bouret Abu Samra, they said.

The Israeli forces opened fire in the direction of Palestinian farmers, to force them leave their lands during the operation.

An army spokesman said only that there was routine activity taking place in the area.
