Israel releases prisoner after 20 years

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israel on Thursday released a 41-year-old Palestinian after detaining him for 20 years.

Khalid Abu Rayaleh, from Sheikh Radwan in the northern Gaza Strip, was detained in 1992 and sentenced to 21 years for membership of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

Abu Rayaleh was released six months before completing his sentence.
