Elderly woman killed in West Bank house fire

TULKAREM (Ma'an) -- A 90-year-old woman died on Wednesday when her house was set ablaze by a gas heater in the northern West Bank, rescue teams said.

Ameena Khamees Mutawafi was killed and her sister Amneh was wounded after the house fire in Nour al-Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarem.

Civil defense representatives in Tulkarem urged citizens to use gas heating safely during the stormy weather conditions.
