Arsonists set fire to Jenin municipality building

Dec. 31, 2012 10:43 A.M. (Updated: Jan. 2, 2013 10:16 A.M.)
JENIN (Ma’an) -- Arsonists set alight a municipality building in the northern West Bank on Monday morning, before firefighters brought the blaze under control.

Civil defense officials said documents had been collected from offices in the building, and torched in the central lobby of Burqin municipality near Jenin.

Assailants had also opened the gas canister in the mayors office, but it was discovered by firefighters who brought the blaze under control, averting an explosion.
