Israeli forces briefly detain 3 children near Nablus

Dec. 15, 2012 3:09 P.M. (Updated: Dec. 16, 2012 11:08 A.M.)
NABLUS (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces briefly detained three Palestinian children south of Nablus on Saturday morning, locals and the army said.

Hassan Ali Taher, 14, Husam Moayad Thaher Al-Najjar, 12, and Hasaan Moayad Al-Najar, 11, all from Burin village, were detained near Etzhar street, local officials said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said they had thrown rocks at a military patrol but were freed after they were questioned on the scene.

Locals said the Palestinian Authority liaison department intervened to secure their release.
