Mashaal meets Egypt intelligence chief

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal on Wednesday met with Egypt's intelligence chief Raafat Shehata to discuss national reconciliation, an official in Cairo said.

Mashaal, joined by Hamas politburo members Izzat al-Rishq and Mohammad Nasser, discussed his recent visit to the Gaza Strip as well as efforts to reconcile with Fatah, which Egypt is overseeing, said Ibrahim al-Darawi, director of the Palestine Studies center in Cairo.
