EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- Egyptian police on Wednesday detained a suspected smuggler and confiscated 1,500 liters of diesel from a vehicle in north Sinai, a security source said.

An Egyptian security official told Ma'an that the driver of the vehicle fled but one man was detained and said he intended to smuggle the diesel through tunnels into the Gaza Strip.
