Fatah revolutionary council seeks Gaza meeting

Nov. 19, 2012 12:53 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 19, 2012 9:31 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Fatah revolutionary council has called for an urgent meeting to discuss the ongoing violence in Gaza, as Israel's bombardment entered its sixth day Monday.

The council said Israel's attacks on Gaza were aimed at least in part to derail President Mahmoud Abbas' plans to seek membership of Palestine as a state in the United Nations.

But it said the attack targeted the entire Palestinian people as a whole and their cause.
