Palestine Airlines to fly medical delegation to el-Arish

Nov. 18, 2012 1:37 A.M. (Updated: Nov. 18, 2012 10:09 A.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestine Airlines will fly a medical delegation from Amman to Egypt's el-Arish, PA transport minister and airline chief Ali Zaidan Abu Zuhri said Sunday.

The delegation is expected to arrive on Monday.

El-Arish is the closest airport to Gaza since Israel destroyed Gaza's international airport in 2002.

Aby Zuhri said in a statement that Palestinians in the West Bank were trying to alleviate the burden on the Gaza Strip. He thanked Jordan and Egypt for their support.

Medics say 54 Palestinians have been killed and over 400 wounded since Israel launched a military offensive on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
