Israel detains Palestinians in Ramallah, Hebron overnight

HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained two Palestinians driving south of Hebron overnight Saturday, locals told Ma'an.

Muhammad Awni al-Qassrawi, and Ilwan Nasser Jamjoum were stopped by soldiers, who called in explosive experts to examine their car for weapons, local officials said.

When they discovered a weapon the pair were detained, they added.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said one person was detained in Hebron, and another in Kfar Nima village north of Ramallah.
