Army: Rocket lands in south Israel, no injuries

Sept. 8, 2012 12:37 P.M. (Updated: Sept. 8, 2012 9:17 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel on Saturday morning, Israel's army said.

The projectile hit the Eshkol region without reports of injuries or damage, an Israeli army spokeswoman said.

Another Color Red alert -- the official warning of a rocket -- was issued in the area this morning, but it was not immediately clear if the rocket had hit Israel, she added.

Israeli forces forces killed six Palestinians in separate attacks on Wednesday and Thursday, claiming they targeted militants firing rockets into the Negev and planting bombs near the border.
