Israeli forces detain 16 in raids across West Bank

RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians early Saturday morning across the West Bank including five teenagers and a minor, officials said.

Palestinian police said in a statement that the detainees were from Ramallah, Nablus, Qalqiliya, Hebron, and Bethlehem areas.

The statement identified the detainees as Majd Fahmi Abbas, 15, Iyad Khamis Abbas, 16, Jad Salman Abdul-Raoof, 18, Yamin Hani Mahmoud, 18, Asaad Muhammad Asaad, 18, and 12-year-old Salah Yasin, all from the village of Kafr Ein in Ramallah district in the central West Bank.

In Nablus, the statement added, Israeli forces raided Ras al-Ayn area and detained Shadi Hani Hannoun, Shadi Ibrahim Hannoun, and his brothers Hani and Muhammad.

The statement added that in Qalqiliya in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces stormed the village of Isla and detained 20-year-old Jamal Radi and his brother Nur, 16.

Meanwhile, In Hebron in the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained Rajab Ubeido, 16.

In Khirbit Zakariyya, a small village amidst Israeli settlements of Gush Etzion south of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained 44-year-old Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Swayy, and his sons, Mahmoud, 24, Nidal, 22 and Iyad, 15.
