PA frees journalist after questioning

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Palestinian Authority freed journalist Tareq Khamis after questioning him late Sunday, a spokesman for the PA security forces told Ma'an.

Adnan Dmeiri said the reporter for Zaman press was detained in al-Bireh and brought in for questioning in connection with the case of Ismat Abdul Khaliq, another person arrested this week.

Abdul Khaliq stands accused of criticizing President Mahmoud Abbas on Facebook.
