PA says it will send medical delegation to Libya

Aug. 31, 2011 5:29 P.M. (Updated: Aug. 31, 2011 5:34 P.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- The Palestinian Authority minister of health will lead a delegation to Libya "to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Libyan people," the official news agency in Ramallah reports.

Minister of Health Fathi Abu Mughli said President Mahmoud Abbas instructed a medical team specialized in disaster treatment to head to Benghazi after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, WAFA reported Monday.

Abu Mughli said that he would personally head the team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and administrators "to contribute to ease the Libyan people’s suffering in the hard times they are going through."

He stressed that in spite of the Palestinian Authority’s critical economic situation and its effects on the medical sector, the delegation will take with it medical equipment, medicine and supplies.
