PA recognizes South Sudan

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Palestinian Authority minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Maliki said Thursday that the PA has recognized the new state of South Sudan.

An official letter has been sent to the minister of foreign affairs in South Sudan.

The Palestinian ministry is following up on all diplomatic and legal procedures as a result of the recognition and is keen to build strong bilateral relations with the new state, Al-Maliki added.
